Our Deepest Sympathies ...

11th September 2001

This message comes from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Let us start off by saying that we here at As Seen On TV Showroom are at a loss for words.  We are as numb as everyone else in the country as we watch the news filter in little by little. There are no words to describe our distress at this moment.

You’ve already heard the news about the hijackings and the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center Buildings.  You’ve also heard that it’s the worst tragedy in American history, more momentous than the attack on Pearl Harbor, and the biggest invasion on U.S. soil since 1812, when America went to war with England in the "the War of 1812"

We at As Seen On TV Showroom wish to extend our deepest sympathies first and foremost to the families and loved ones of those who have been directly affected by this attack.  To everyone who’s lost loved ones, we offer our prayers and tears.  We also wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the nation as a whole.  Nothing like this has ever happened in our history, and it will definitely leave deep emotional and psychological scars for centuries to come. As one of our workers stated, "This changes everything."

We also want to thank all of those heroes out there who have risked their own lives to help out in this moment of crisis.  It never ceases to amaze us how people can pull together in such remarkable ways in times like these.  We thank those across America who have donated money, blood, time, efforts and whatever else they have to ease the pain of those suffering.

We wish our best to those who are left with the project of running our country.  We also respect  the president as he guides us through these emotional times.  We wish all those leaders who must now bring our country together the very best.  And we hope that those in charge of finding the terrorists will do so quickly.

We would also like to encourage anyone who runs a web site to follow the example of other sites across the country, and post links and instructions showing citizens how they can contact their local Red Cross to donate blood or money, or both.  Our website has posted this information also, directly below.  Please please please, contact the Red Cross, and do what you can to help out those who desperately need it at this moment.

At this moment, most of us feel a bit hopeless somewhat powerless, and probably very angry.  We can do something positive about those emotions by getting involved in any way we can.  Let’s pull together as a nation and show the terrorists that, they may have hurt us, but they haven’t undone us.

On a more personal note, As a member of 'IVC Volunteer Corp' my duty is to protect our country, our people, our families, and children.  If we do get called on duty . . . pray for us so that we may return safely to our families.  Thank you.

Let us say a prayer for all of the innocent people who have lost their lives in this senseless violence, as well as their relatives that have been left in mourning.  Also my prayers are to all of the medical personnel and to all those volunteers that are doing the best thing they can to rescue and help victims.  Further, let us say a prayer that God will lead our nation forward and united.

Prayer

Be near me Lord when I need you the most,
Open up your arms and hold me close.
Take me under your wing and keep me there,
Away from the hurt and grief I bear.

Walk with me Lord through the sad days ahead,
Give me love and strength from morn till bed.
Within myself my pain is so strong,
With hope in my heart you can lead me on.

Through tears and pain can I only grow,
At this point in my life I can't let go.
Heal my wounds and steer me right,
Maybe then in the end I will win my fight.

As time passes by I will realize then,
How wonderful life can become again.
I know in my heart you will always be there,
To love and guide me because you care.

So be near me my Lord in this time of need,
Only with your love I will heal indeed.

Amen

God Bless You All - God Bless and Protect This Great Country!
